Beginning March 2, 2026, the glass arcade on the east side of Peoria Civic Center will undergo a major renovation, with completion expected in Fall 2027. Additionally, the arena’s original ice plant will be replaced beginning in May 2026, with the project expected to be completed by early Fall 2026.
Once finished, these upgrades will further strengthen the Peoria Civic Center by improving comfort, accessibility, and the overall guest experience for all visitors. What to Expect
For everyone's safety, the construction area will be fully barricaded and inaccessible for the duration of the project. Guest pathways will be routed through the Exhibit Halls, and entry points, especially on the north Theater side which will shift at various stages as work progresses.
- Phase 1 (March 2nd - September 2026) - Venue Entry #4 will be the main entrance point on the north side of the building. Entry #5 will only provide access to the Marriott Hotel Skywalk.
- Phase 2 - Venue Entry #5 will reopen.

Meet Cedric - Your Friendly Guide at the Peoria Civic Center!
You may recognize Cedric as the dragon sculpture located outside at the corner of Jefferson Ave and Fulton St. As construction begins in March 2026, Cedric will be helping guests navigate temporary entrances, route changes, and event updates. You’ll see him on signage and event communications, leading the way and sharing helpful reminders along the journey.
